Greeting Earthclan! Back again with another excellent top 7.
2013 has been a great year for games, and I have played quite a lot of good ones this year. Only 7, however, can be chosen as my top games of the year so far. So without further ado...
7. Grid 2
Kicking off here is a genre I do not usually play. Grid 2, made by the masters of racing games Codemasters is a great arcade racing game with very interesting ideas, making it stand out a fair bit from what we know in racers. It has a very good story mode, arcade style controls and gorgeous visuals. Grid 2 is by far the best racing game I have played a long time ago.
6. Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon
Hopefully I can include this. Blood Dragon is a standalone 'expansion' for Far Cry 3, which was my favourite game of last year. Blood Dragon is crazy, colourful and just plain awesome with a wonderful 80s motif, and better yet, uses all the assets that were created for Far Cry 3.
5. God Of War: Ascension
God of War is a series I only got into a few months ago. I played the first one, and then the third. I was then told the best thing to do would be to play Ascension before I play the others too much. Ascension is the perfect example of what makes GoW so damn good.
4. The Last Of Us
While I don't think The Last Of Us is as good as the 10/10 reviews it got, it is still a perfect example of good storytelling in games. I am a sucker for good stories, and The Last Of Us has a wonderful story, based in a really grim setting. The game play is pretty standard and nothing special, but I think the story makes up for that. A definite must play.
3. Army Of Two: The Devil's Cartel
I will probably have angry mobs after me for putting this above The Last Of Us, but hear me out. The reason I loved this game is because it didn't try to be anything more than a destructive 3rd person shooter. We need more games like this to be honest. It didn't try and shove it's story down your throat (even though the story wasn't that bad), or was it a particularly ambitious title. It is just pure fun.
2. Injustice: Gods Among Us
I am trying not to be biased, being massive DC Comics fan, so I am judging this on the game. Injustice is one of the best fighting games I have ever played. It draws a few similarities to Mortal Kombat, but manages to differentiates itself enough. The DC license is an added bonus to a phenomenal fighting game with a really in depth, fun and balanced combat system.
1. Bioshock Infinite
You know how I said I am a sucker for story? Well Bioshock Infinite managed to suck me in and spit me out. Infinite is, in my opinion, the greatest game that has come out so far this year. It has outstanding visuals, great level design (no matter how linear it is) and amazing character and story development. Personally, I don't think a game will beat this one this year. I am currently doing a play through on my Youtube channel. Watch by clicking here!
So there you have it. Obviously these are subject to change. We do have some more awesome games coming out later in the year so stick around and stay tuned!
I will be back next week! In the meantime follow me on Twitter by going to http://www.twitter.com/idioticbiotic ! Also watch my gaming channel http://www.youtube.com/user/idioticbiotic

Top 7: Games/franchises to reboot!
Greetings Earthclan! Been a while, but I return with the first edition of a new feature. Tops 7!
Here I list my personal top 7 of a certain topic and give my reasons!
Reboots are very common nowadays in the gaming industry. From full on reboots of an entire franchise (i.e. Tomb Raider, Devil May Cry), re-releases (i.e. Metal Gear, ICO/SotC) or remakes (Halo: CE, early Pokemon games). But they are not doing the right ones! At least, in my opinion anyway. So, here are the top 7 games or franchises I would like to see make a triumphant comeback!
7. Sonic The Hedgehog
I'm starting off with a little bit of bitterness here. Sonic The Hedgehog is a franchise which kicked off in 1991 with the first game, Sonic The Hedgehog (believe it or not). Since then we have had to painfully endure the character and the series transitioning to 3D, to turning into a Werewolf (or Werehog, commence eye roll sequence...), using swords and then try to go back to 2D and failing miserably. I think Sega and Team Sonic need to look at these games and realise that scrapping the whole f'n lot and starting with the basics that made the franchise so popular in the first place would be the way to go. Now, the new Wii U Sonic game looks quite interesting, but after playing Sonic and The Black fucking Knight (not the official title) I am sceptical.
6. Dino Crisis
Here is a PS classic that disappeared after the PSone did. Or it may as well of done after Dino Crisis 3 on the Xbox, which was awful. A reboot in the vein of Resi Evil would do the series very well. Also, dinosaurs are popular again, Capcom are stupid if they don't jump on this train.
5. Vectorman
Vectorman is an obscure one for me. I think in today's gaming landscape, Vectorman is a character/series that would probably thrive. Originally a side scrolling shooter on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, the Vectorman series grounded to a halt with Vectorman 2, and even was set to have a third game. But the dreams of myself and (hopefully) others were crushed as it was cancelled. First person shooter perhaps? I'd even accept that if it meant more of the Vman!
4. Spyro The Dragon
I know, Spyro is part of the hugely popular and the biggest cash grab in gaming known as Skylanders, but that's not good enough. Spyro, back in his PS, and even PS2, days was the best. The little purple dragon starred in some true classics way back when, and I feel a new Spyro game in the style of Spyro 1,2 and 3 would be truly amazing. If only Activision wasn't holding onto the rights.
3. Streets of Rage
Ah, one of the true classics in gaming history. Streets of Rage inspired so many games it's hard to keep track, but when a much loved series like this saw its last game back in 1994, I think it's probably time to make another one. Many have tried, however, to revive it but all have failed. It just needs the right developer. *Ring* *Ring* "Hello, Platinum games, I have an idea..."
2. Crash Bandicoot
Here we go, bitterness mode GO! Crash Bandicoot, back in the days of the PS, like Spyro, was a classic. Not only that, but Crash was pretty much a mascot for the whole damn platform! But when Activision claimed the rights to the character and the franchise, that's where Crash faded away into obscurity and, subsequently, into nothing. If there is a god, Naughty Dog will one day have their game back. Watch this space (hopefully).
1. Onimusha
It makes me truly sad that we haven't seen a main Onimusha game since Dawn of Dreams back in 2006. From what I read in research, Onimusha is considered Capcom's sixth biggest selling franchise. So, what are they doing?! Onimusha 3 is regarded by myself as Capcom's best game, and hopefully one day Capcom sees the light and realises that the world is ready for a new Onimusha game.
So there you have it, there's my opinions on the games that need a comeback. Thank you very much for reading. I would be very interested in reading your suggestions. Email me at idioticbiotic@gmail.com and follow me on Twitter www.twitter.com/idioticbiotic to let me know what you think!

I now love my 3DS!
Greetings earthclan! Welcome to post numero 2!
So yesterday I bought two 3DS games. I have been looking for a new excuse to play my 3DS after finishing Ocarina of Time, Heroes of Ruin and Kingdom Hearts DDD (amongst others). I bought Fire Emblem: Awakening and Virtues Last Reward.
First off, let's start off with Fire Emblem. I have never ever played a Fire Emblem game. The closest exposure to the series I have ever had was maining Marth on Super Smash Bros. Melee. But I am loving this game! If you don't know what Fire Emblem is, it is a Strategy RPG game with a Japanese anime style flavour. It's a really fun game, simple to pick up but tough to master (I'm guessing, I have only put in around an hour and a half so far!). It has a sort of 'Iron Man' style game mode, which I am playing at the moment, where your characters are gone if they die. In a way, the game reminds me of one of my favourite games of all time, Valkyria Chronicles. So yes, thumbs up for this game!
Virtues Last Reward, on the other hand, is one crazy game! It is primarily a room escape game. I didn't actually realise that this game is on 3DS (I nearly bought a PS Vita for it!). Again, I've put in about an hour and a half. All in all, it is a pretty good game. Difficult to control, but I am liking it.
My 3DS is reborn once again!

Welcome!
Greetings earthclan! Welcome to my blog where I will be talking stuff about games, movies, anything which catches my interest in the world of nerdery.
So, I do also run a Youtube channel, which is here. Here I play a lot of games, and I upload stuff every week at the very least. Currently I have three playthrough series going on. First is Bioshock Infinite, which is the wonderful story focused first person shooter which was released this year.
Second is Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon which will be starting Tuesday, and is the stand alone expansion to the critically acclaimed, and my personal Game of the Year of 2012, Far Cry 3.
Third is the beautifully gory They Bleed Pixels, which started yesterday.
I also do other gameplay videos. A new series 'Fun with...' will be starting this week. Starting with Remember Me on Wednesday. This is a series that is starts informative, and then it's just me messing around within the game. This will be either new releases or loved games.
I will post a wrap up of what has been uploaded here every week, so stay tuned!
So I am looking forward to posting more blogs, and I will talk to you next time!

Only one video was uploaded this week. Part 1 of my 'They Bleed Pixels' playthrough. It is a truly wonderful game, and I am playing it blind so look forward to seeing a lot of death and fail, but entertaining death and fail in any case.
